Young and Wood (1997) suggest that the closest affinity might be to A. xanthocephala. The type study of Young and Wood doesn't mention the defining characters of the Amanitaceae. The type should be checked for longitudinally acrophysalidic stipe tissue. The lamella trama should be checked to see if it is bilateral and divergent. | ||||||||
